Embracing the Spirit of Christmas at Westhill Park
As the festive season approaches, there's a feeling of magic in the air at Westhill Park.
We have been getting ready for Christmas for some time now, the process began weeks ago with the team and residents gathering to discuss and plan the activities, events, and theme for this year’s decorations. Everyone brought their own unique ideas to the table, reminiscing about their favourite Christmas traditions and sharing stories of Christmases past. From classic ornaments to handmade crafts, the goal here at Kingfisher was to infuse the communal spaces with warmth, love, and the unmistakable magic of Christmas.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this festive endeavour was the residents' engagement in crafting handmade ornaments. Tables were spread with glitter, glue, and an array of colourful materials and our residents put their artistic skills to the test. From paper snowflakes to personalised tree decorations, every creation was made with love and adds that special touch, a personal story, turning the Westhill Park into a gallery of memories.
The halls of Westhill Park were filled with the sounds of laughter as we hung ornaments on Christmas trees, strung garlands along corridors, and adorned the lounges with festive cheer.
Decorating our home is a communal experience, it brings us closer together. We have enjoyed a week of shared laughter, of exchanging stories, we found joy in each other's company, and created lasting memories.
As December fast approaches, we are full of the festive spirit, looking forward to the weeks ahead, wrapping our gifts, writing our cards, spending time with our families, and cracking open the sherry. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Westhill Park, and we could not be more ready for it.
