It’s a bit of a cliché that as we get older, we suddenly prefer a trip round a garden centre to a trip to the pub. I’m not sure that this is strictly true, we do still very much enjoy a trip to the pub, but I will concede that we do all enjoy a stroll around the local garden centre.
Our last visit was not purely recreational, we were on a mission to pick up some greenery for our garden, something that will be able to withstand the winter weather and provide us with both a beautiful view from our window and a welcoming place to take an autumn stroll.
There is something very calming about being surrounded by greenery. We had a wonderful time strolling through the centre. making plans for our winter garden.
Once the shopping is done, we like to make our way to the café, it’s light and airy and always smells divine. We always save the visit to the café until the end of our trip, we gather around a table, laden with our purchases, we chat about the things we have seen and enjoy a well-earned cup of tea and a slice of cake.
