As Valentine's Day approached, our hearts were all aflutter with anticipation. While the world outside may be bustling with romantic dinners and flower deliveries, here at Westhill Park we had our own celebrations. Celebrations that embrace love in its purest form, transcending age, time, and circumstance.
For us Valentine's Day is a cherished occasion, a day dedicated to honouring the bonds of friendship, companionship, and camaraderie that are the heartbeat of this home.
Our preparations for Valentine's Day began well in advance of the big day, crafting decorations, making cards; the kitchen team worked their magic with the menu. The home looked great, but Valentine’s Day is not about the décor, it’s about the love, it’s about reminiscing, sharing memories, it’s about celebrating love in all its forms.
For many of our residents, Valentine's Day is an opportunity to remember the love stories of days gone by—to share tales of courtship, marriage, and enduring companionship with newfound friends.
Of course, no Valentine's Day celebration would be complete without a special meal to mark the occasion and here at Westhill our chefs pulled out all the stops, preparing a delicious feast befitting of the theme. And whilst our residents dined together in our beautifully set dining room, a very special couple had their own private lunch date, celebrating their 70th Valentine’s Day together.
Brian and Pam have spent every Valentine’s Day together since 1954 and we wanted to make this year as special as the 69 celebrations that have gone before. With their own private dining room and team members on hand to attend to their every need, Brian and Pam enjoyed a sumptuous brunch, and toasted 70 years of love and devotion.
We were honoured to be part of their celebration, they are a true testament to the power of love, and an inspiration to us all.
