78 years ago, the second world war ended, and a collective sigh of relief was felt across the globe. Our brave boys returned home, and a world celebrated their freedom. VE Day was a day we’ll never forget; it is impossible to describe what it meant to us, the feelings of joy and relief that it was over and of sadness and regret for what had been endured.
We never let the anniversary pass by unmarked, whether it is spent in quiet reflection or raucous celebration, we remember everything that we lost and all that we gained.
This year we celebrated in style, drinking, singing, and partying; we shared our stories and we remembered those who are no longer with us. It was the perfect way to mark a day that will always mean so much to us.
