St George’s Day marks the English celebration of Saint George and the admiration for his bravery in the face of terrible suffering. The day is typical celebrated with anything English related, dancing, Punch and Judy shows, drinks, the red cross flag flying and the embracement of English traditions.
At Marham House Care Homes, residents were provided with a special socially distanced show, to mark the occasion. Gina provided the residents with an afternoon of entertainment on the 23rd of April 2021 and put on a spectacular show.
The day started with a themed quiz that took place in the cinema room, testing our resident’s traditional English knowledge across the years. In the afternoon residents could be seen enjoying, a lovely glass of Pimm’s whilst singing and dancing a long to favourite English songs.
One family member commented “Happy St Georges day and it was a bonus to visit Mum today! Lovely singing from everyone.”
Another commented “Great to see mum joining in the singing and the home was very lively when visiting her in the morning.”
Our residents love to celebrate and take part in joyous occasions, the Lifestyle Team work incredibly hard to provide residents with a varied, sociable, and fun-filled lifestyle programme, where all of our resident’s well-being and needs are placed at the centre.
