Friday was World Book Day and we celebrated in proper Layston Grove style. We spent the morning in our beautiful library. We sat for hours looking at the life and works of Lewis Carroll, the author of many weird and wonderful stories, the most well-known being Alice in Wonderland. He was a very interesting man who led a fascinating life. The time flew by.
Mid-afternoon we had lots of fun at our Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, the tea room had been decorated Wonderland style and we were provided with perfect headwear for the occasion.
We spent the afternoon, enjoying delicious treats, telling stories and jokes, it was a lot of fun. We finished the tea party with a good old-fashioned singalong.
