Kingfisher Court recently had a new resident move in, a lady called Kate, on the memory care floor.
Kate was very anxious when the team first met her and needed a lot of reassurance so one member of the team decided to take her for a walk around the building. It was that time to deliver the morning papers to the residents, so Kate got involved with and helped deliver them.
It gave Kate the chance to get familiar with the home and to meet her residents. It was such an amazing experience which gave the staff so much pleasure seeing this amazing lady interact and meet with everybody with such a massive smile on her face. It seemed to give Kate so much joy and happiness going around everywhere.
Since then, this has been made into an everyday occurrence. Kate looks forward to this every morning and waits with her apron on ready for the task. It has made Kate more confident and comfortable with being at Kingfisher.
One family member commented,” Thank you for sharing these lovely photos of mum and for involving her in life at Kingfisher Court right from the start. What a brilliant way for her to meet and get to know other residents. It is so comforting to see her looking well and settling into her new surroundings, The smiling faces of mum and her new friends speaks volumes!”
