After weeks of planning the platinum jubilee weekend finally arrived and it was magnificent.
So much work has gone into making this the celebration of the century.
We have had a lot of fun, planning and crafting, organising, and decorating, the home has been a hive of activity and buzzing with excitement.
We have idled away the hours reminiscing about our memories of the coronation, the wonder of it all. We remember the parties, the joy of witnessing our new queen crowned, she was so young.
Our weekend celebrations were fabulous; we watched the Trooping of the Colour and were delighted to see Queen Elizabeth make an appearance on the balcony. We also hosted our own jubilee party. A marquee was erected in the grounds of Priors Hall, and it was decked out in red, white, and blue bunting, it looked beautiful and was the perfect backdrop for such a huge celebration. Our families joined us for an afternoon of fantastic food and entertainment. There was singing, there was dancing, and the atmosphere was electric, almost magical. Everyone was in such high spirits, it was reminiscent of the coronation, only the food was more plentiful.
70 years is quite an achievement, so much has changed, and Queen Elizabeth has been dedicated to our country throughout it all. History has been made and we are delighted that we were able to be part of it.
