What a weekend! The Queen had tea with Paddington, Prince Louis stole the show at the Trooping of the Colour and the sky above Buckingham Palace was illuminated with a giant corgi and a pot of tea. History has been made and we were all a part of it.
We have been planning this weekend for a very long time. The majority of us remember the coronation, the wonder of it all. The young princess taking on the role of monarch at such a tender age. It was like a fairy story. A lot has changed in the last 70 years, and Queen Elizabeth has presided over all of it.
Our weekend celebrations were fabulous; not only did we follow the live coverage on TV, but we also hosted our own jubilee party. Hazel End was decorated beautifully, decked out in red, white, and blue, photographs of the Queen adorned the walls, and the scene was set for a huge celebration. Our families joined us for an afternoon of fantastic food and entertainment. There was singing, there was dancing, and the atmosphere was electric, almost magical. Everyone was in such high spirits, it was reminiscent of the coronation, only the food was more plentiful.
We have had a truly wonderful few weeks, planning and crafting, organising, and decorating, the home has been a hive of activity and buzzing with excitement and pride.
Queen Elizabeth has achieved something that no previous British monarch has, and we are delighted that we were able to celebrate the occasion in style, surrounded by our friends, and our loved ones, it was a weekend that we shall never forget.
