I’m sorry but someone had to mention it eventually. You will know from our previous stories that we are quite partial to a trip to the garden centre; we know it’s such a cliché, but we like it there. It’s close by so we don’t have to worry about sitting in the car for hours, it has such a great variety of departments, so we never get bored and probably the biggest draw is the cake, the cake is good.
We always look forward to our visits however we do become a little over excited at this time of year. The Christmas display is eagerly awaited, and it never disappoints. The serene atmosphere is transformed to one of magic and excitement, the colours, the sounds, the smells, it is almost as if it has been created by Santa himself. We couldn’t wait to see this year’s offerings and they didn’t disappoint, we had a wonderful time, inspecting the ornaments, dancing along with singing Santas and taking in the heady aromas of autumn.
The garden centre Christmas display signals the start of the festive season and grants us permission to get excited about all that is to come. The weather now has an autumnal feel, the nights are drawing in and like it or loathe it Christmas is on its way, and at Timken Grange, we are very much here for it.
