We have taken part in some fun events and activities during my time here, we have dressed as elves, we have made scarecrows, we’ve had parties, visited museums, and even had a visit from a house-trained pony, we have had a lot of fun. This week we took part in an activity that will go down as one of the best so far. We had our very own jungle adventure, I’m a Celebrity style.
We all enjoy “I’m a Celebrity” and watch it avidly in the run up to Christmas. We all have our favourites and love to follow the contestants as they push themselves to conquer their fears and make unlikely friendships. It’s great television.
We were really excited to be having our own jungle experience and it did not disappoint, in fact it far exceeded our expectations. The work that had obviously gone into arranging such a wonderful afternoon did not go unnoticed.
The afternoon started with some trials, anyone who has been watching the show over the years will remember Paul Burrell squirming and squealing whilst reaching into the great unknown to find a star. We had our own rather tamer version of this trial, we reached inside boxes to identify the contents. Even though we were fairly confident that the box did hold spiders or snakes it was still a little disconcerting, placing our hands into the box. It was fabulous fun.
Following our trials, we were handed jungle smoothies and asked to identify the ingredients, this was trickier than we had expected. Finally, we were treated to jungle snacks such as “Rhino Dung” and “River Sludge” which I have to say tasted a lot better than they sounded.
We had a fabulous time, our lifestyle team did us proud, what a creative bunch they are.
