Our days of travelling the world may be over but our journey into virtual travel is just beginning.
Many of us have travelled extensively and have countless stories to tell. Tales of culture and cuisine uncommon to us in the west. We enjoy hearing each other’s life stories and one of our favourite topics of conversation is holidays. The world is a diverse place and learning about far flung places is fascinating.
This week we took a virtual trip to India, just for the day. We learned about the culture of this country, the population, the languages, and religion. India is huge, 13 times the size of the UK, and has a population of 1.38 billion, making it the second most populous country in the world, the lifestyles of the people of India vary greatly depending on region.
We had a fabulous time, we watched informative videos and learned so much from them, we watched Bollywood dancing, we even had a go ourselves, the music is so upbeat, it’s hard to resist joining in. The best part of the day for me was the food. We tried a variety of Indian snacks, both sweet and savoury, they were all delicious.
We will be off on further virtual travels this month, we will be making pizzas in Italy and sampling oriental delights for Chinese New Year and best of all, there’ll be no jet lag, lost luggage, or flight delays to contend with.
