If you are thinking about moving into a care home, you will have many questions swimming around in your mind, I know that I did. One of the top priorities for me and I would assume for many others was the food. Would I have any control over the menu, would I have to eat at set times, would I even like the meals being dished up? So many questions.
For me, I have to say that many of my concerns were quashed during my first tour around the home and completely laid to rest once I had eaten my first couple of meals at Overstone House.
So, if you are wondering the same, let me tell you this. We do get a say in the dishes that make it onto the menu, the menu changes with the seasons and we are consulted before hand. Obviously, mealtimes are set however there is an option to eat later or earlier should you wish, and you also have the option of where to eat, the dining room, in the privacy of your own room, even al fresco, weather permitting. And if you are not a fan of a particular menu choice, the kitchen team will always be able to rustle up an alternative. Add to this the steady stream of cakes and treats that are available 24/7, I can honestly say that I’ve never eaten so well.
