Whilst the rest of the country face national restrictions over the Christmas period, residents at Hazel End have been well and truly enjoying their Christmas festivities.
Residents have been keeping themselves extremely busy, with events including Elf Day, raising money for Alzheimer’s, Wrapping the home in love asking family, friends and the community to place a bauble around the fence of the care home, having visits from Santa courtesy of Bishops Stortford and Stanstead Round Table, and socially distanced visits from the Salvation Army who put on a performance for our residents.
Throughout December residents have been making decorations and have enjoyed making the home look like a winter wonderland. This week staff have arranged a Christmas party where they will be putting on a surprise performance for their residents.
To allow residents to spend some extra time with their loved ones, Hazel End have arranged for families and friends to book slots to visit Hazel End for their outside Mulled wine and mince pies event, in order to feel the Christmas spirit in a safe socially distanced way.
For the rest of the Christmas period residents will be kept busy with a Christmas Cake unveiling, Secret Santa, Big Fat Christmas Quiz, Pyjama Party, Pampering, Christmas Day Pub Lunch, Movies, Games, Happy Hours and New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance.
To keep up to date on all our events, please keep an eye out on Facebook where you can see all our photos, videos and TikTok’s.
We cannot wait until we can open our doors and have families and friends with us for the Christmas period, but we are holding out hope for next year.
At Hazel End Care Home, we can currently organise socially distanced visits and are always on hand to help, please call 01279 925388 or email info@halcyoncarehome.co.uk to book your visit or for any queries.
