On 23rd October, Marham House will wear pink, raise money and help aid in the life saving breast cancer research and help make life-changing care happen. In aid of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Marham House have baked pink themed cakes, made a special boob cake, wore pink, and took part in breast cancer quizzes, to raise money for this fantastic charity.
Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, thousands of amazing people wear it pink in their communities, schools or workplaces for the UK's largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.
Alicia Marketing and Communications Manager commented “Breast Cancer Awareness is a wonderful charity, supporting individuals and families across the country, it has been extremely heart- warming to watch how the team and residents have worked together to raise money for this brilliant cause.”
Daniel, Operations Director said ‘Halcyon Care Homes recognises the importance of fundraising to support such worthwhile causes such as Breast Cancer Awareness. Whilst this can be a sensitive subject, the respect shown by the team and residents has been heart-warming. The resources provided by wearitpink.org enabled a little bit of fun followed by the fabulous cake, designed and created by our very own Chef Becky – it was a real hoot and tasted beautiful’.
Marham House is a newly built residential care home in Bury St Edmunds. It supplies 24-hour care within buildings that have been purposefully designed for the elderly, along with enough artistic flourishes and comfortable additions to make it feel warm and welcoming to its residents. Marham House’s facilities include spacious and luxurious social areas, stylish décor and secure gardens and grounds that are open to all guests and residents.
All 66 bedrooms are en-suite, giving our residents an independent lifestyle while at the same time supporting their needs. In this way, our staff can deliver person-centred care in a dignified, understated way. We believe that no one should come into our home unless we are going to be able to make their lives better, make their days easier and support them in leading the life they choose to lead.
