There is lots to do here at Hazel End. Our days are certainly never dull. This week we have been discussing the things that make life here so wonderful and one thing that came up repeatedly was animals. Why do we love them so much?
We have our own pet guinea pigs, Coffee & Biscuit, they are the most loved and spoiled guinea pigs in the country. We make regular visits to local farms and parks, and we have a wonderful time petting the animals we meet and enjoying their company.
Many places make use of the calming influence of animals for therapy, schools now have classroom dogs and even doctor's surgeries are introducing therapy dogs for nervous patients. It's a genius idea.
We love everything we do here but there is something about the interaction with animals that lifts spirits and improves mental health, even just reminiscing about well-loved pets, dogs that have been loyal companions over the years, cats that have snuggled on our laps on winter evenings, even the responsibility of looking after the school hamster when children had generously volunteered our pet sitting services during school holidays, they all brought us great joy and it is truly wonderful that we are still able to enjoy the company of our four-legged friends so regularly here at Hazel End.
