Residents at Hazel End have been treated to an afternoon tea dance. The team laid on the treat on Wednesday 19th August, residents and staff spent the afternoon eating, drinking, and dancing together. The vintage style theme meant residents dressed to impress with fancy frocks, took part in quizzes, and listened to their favourite hits.

The aim of this theme was to spark memories that the residents had, it allowed for group conversation and discussion and encouraged the residents to reminisce.

Allison Squires Home Manager said, “The residents and staff had a fantastic afternoon; the residents lit up whilst reminiscing on their memories and seemed to enjoy being spoilt for the afternoon”.

Julie Lifestyle Manager commented “It was lovely to see the residents doing something they would’ve done outside of the home. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and lots of debate about whether you put the milk in first or last”

One Resident stated “I really enjoyed the afternoon tea and all the staff did a better job of pouring the tea than the monkeys in the advert, well just about” another resident commented “I have been thoroughly spoilt the whole day”.
