Well, the big day finally arrived, and it was fabulous; all of our hard work really paid off. Many of us celebrated Queen Elizabeth’s coronation and we remember the day with fondness. The UK was a very different place back then, the war had not long ended, and we were still subject to rationing, the coronation gave us an excuse to celebrate, and we did so in style.
Here at Hazel End, we wanted to recreate our memories of 1953 and to give our families and friends a celebration fit for a king.
The day went off perfectly, we gathered together in the morning to watch the ceremony, admiring the outfits and enjoying the music, and in the afternoon, we partied; we feasted, we drank, we sang, and we danced, and we raised our glasses to our new king.
