There are many things I like about living here; the company, the food, the fact that I don’t have to do my own washing to name just a few but one of my favourite things is being able to get out and about, more specifically, out to the pub.
I have always enjoyed a pint and a pub lunch; it was something I once did on a weekly basis but as I got older, I became less able to get out. I had friends and family who would visit or take me out at the weekend but during the week I was becoming more isolated, not wanting to venture too far from home.
Living here I have the best of both worlds; I still get to see my family at the weekend but during the week I am far from lonely. There is always something going on, and even if I don’t feel like joining in with group activities, I still have company and a group of friendly faces to eat lunch with.
We venture out a lot, we have day trips to places of interest, we enjoy a stroll in the park, and we have my favourite of all, a walk to the local pub for a pint and a pub lunch.
Now that spring is here, we are already making the most of the longer days and warmer weather. This week we spent a wonderful morning in the garden, preparing the ground for planting and once we had finished, we took a leisurely stroll to our local. The staff there are always so accommodating and always seem genuinely pleased to see us. It is lovely to be able to make the most of everything the community has to offer.
I like everything about living here but my favourite will always be sharing a pub lunch with my new friends.
